Whether a referral arrives by paper or electronically TCES Community facilitates both and are added to the system by administration staff. Once visible in the system the 18 week referral to equipment timeline is activated. To ensure this timescale isn't exceeded stop and pause reasons relating back to contract policies are incorporated, with auto reactivation and configurable alerts. For instance an incomplete referral can be rejected and returned to the staff member, resulting in the 18-week timescale being paused until the referral is revised.
When a referral is brought into the service it is initially triaged, the outcome is then recorded and the most appropriate workflow is actioned.
